$149 Is the Quarter, Not the Year

Their numbers are published by them and were checked in July 2026. Our reading of those numbers is obviously self-interested, so check them yourself.

What Swyft Filings Gets Right

Speed and simplicity are the pitch, and the company delivers a clean, fast formation experience with a support desk that answers. Owners who want the paperwork done quickly and correctly, without being walked through a decision tree of upgrades, have reason to like it. Nothing in what follows disputes the quality of the work.

The Unit of Time Is the Problem

Swyft Filings quotes registered agent service at $149. The billing period attached to that figure is a quarter, not a year. Four quarters puts the annualized cost near $596, and we found no separate first-year discount to offset it.

That is the entire case, and it turns on nothing more contentious than a calendar. Every other provider on our comparison sheet posts an annual figure. Placed in a row beside them, $149 reads like the middle of the market. Multiply it before you compare it and it becomes the most expensive line on the page by a wide margin.

A quarterly charge also behaves differently in your bookkeeping. An annual invoice is an event you notice once a year and can decide about. Four smaller charges spread through the year settle into the background where nobody reviews them.

Delaware's One Deadline, and What Missing It Costs

Delaware LLCs file no annual report. Not a short one, not an easy one, none whatsoever. The recurring obligation is instead a flat annual tax collected by the Division of Corporations, historically $300 and set at $400 beginning with tax year 2026 under HB 400, due on or before June 1 under 6 Del. C. § 18-1107.

The absence of a report is a mixed blessing. There is nothing to complete, and equally nothing arriving in the mail to remind you the date is coming. The consequences of forgetting are not gentle: a $200 penalty attaches, interest of 1.5 percent per month accrues on the tax and the penalty together, the amount is not prorated no matter when in the year you formed, and sustained nonpayment costs the company its good standing before ending in cancellation.

That is why the least glamorous feature of an agent service is the one worth pricing. A reminder that lands in May is worth more than any dashboard, and it costs the vendor almost nothing to send. Whoever you hire, hire somebody who treats June 1 as their own deadline.

Ending Swyft Filings and Naming a Delaware Successor

Delaware charges $50 to change agents, on an amendment captioned solely for a registered office or agent change and filed with the Division of Corporations. Keep that caption narrow. The same change written into a general certificate of amendment costs $180 instead.

The one procedural rule worth internalizing is that the incoming agent must be in place before the certificate is submitted, since the document exists to name a successor. Retain the Swyft Filings account until Delaware's record shows us listed, then cancel it and stop the quarterly billing at the source.
