Best Registered Agent in Delaware: Nine Services Reviewed for 2026

Pay one annual fee — $99 — for registered agent representation in Delaware. The address goes on your filings, legal mail gets scanned same-day, and we remind you before state deadlines.

Most "best registered agent" lists are written by affiliates who earn a commission on your click and have never signed for a summons. Ours has a different problem, and we will name it in the first paragraph: we operate DE Registered Agent.org, the service holding first place below at $99, so you are reading a seller's review of itself. What we can promise is the data. Every price on this page is the vendor's own published rate, checked in July 2026, including the one that beats ours.

Every rate above is what its vendor was advertising when we last looked, in July 2026. Plans get reshuffled without warning in this industry, so confirm the current figure on the day you order, whether from us or from anyone else in the table.

Our Case for First Place

The reasons are concrete, and you can weigh them yourself. Legal process that reaches our Delaware office gets scanned and emailed the same day, not queued for a weekly batch. The renewal is $99 every year for as long as you keep the service; there is no discounted door price with a higher rate hiding behind it. Checkout ends at checkout, with no compliance bundle or premium tier waiting on the next screen. Your public filings show our Delaware street address instead of your own. And the one add-on fee we charge is disclosed before you ever pay: $15 per item if you want mail beyond legal process scanned.

What we will not tell you is that we cost the least. Measured strictly by the published number, the cheapest registered agent service in Delaware is BetterLegal's $90 rate, one row down. Ours sits among the lowest flat annual prices in Delaware and includes same-day scanning, which is the honest end of the claim.

Reviews: Second Through Ninth

Second: Northwest Registered Agent

If we vanished tomorrow, Northwest is where we would send you. Their pricing is published to the dollar: the first year rides free with a formation order, then $125 per year, dropping to $100 per state once you hold five or more states. Phone support is staffed by actual humans, and their privacy stance has held steady for years. The renewal simply costs more than ours, which is why they sit second on a page we write.

Third: BetterLegal

BetterLegal prints $90 a year, the lowest advertised figure in the table, and honesty requires giving that its due. What kept it out of second place is verification: we could not confirm how the first year is billed, and a number we cannot verify ranks below numbers we can. If $90 decides it for you, read their checkout terms closely and enjoy the savings.

Fourth: Rocket Lawyer

Rocket Lawyer's agent service runs $125 a year at every membership level, with no first-year teaser that we could locate, and stable pricing deserves credit. The service comes wrapped inside a large legal platform, which is a genuine benefit if you will use the document library and attorney consultations, and simple padding if the agent appointment is the only item on your shopping list.

Fifth: ZenBusiness

ZenBusiness runs the most polished dashboard in this group, and plenty of owners enjoy living in it. The arithmetic is what drops it to fifth: the standalone agent purchase advertises a first year at $99 plus state fees, then renews at $199. Judge it by the $199, because that is the price you actually pay in every year but one.

Sixth: Bizee (formerly Incfile)

Bizee folds free agent service into its formation packages for three to twelve months depending on which one you buy, and if you are forming an LLC this week, that is real money saved. The standalone renewal is $149 a year. Put the day the free months end on your calendar, since $149 is what begins there.

Seventh: LegalZoom

LegalZoom carries more name recognition than the rest of this list combined, and familiarity has real value when you are nervous about getting this right. It bills $249 a year, the rate auto-renews, and we found no first-year discount, which leaves it the priciest flat rate in the table for what is functionally the same appointment.

Eighth: Swyft Filings

Swyft Filings quotes $149, but the unit is a quarter rather than a year, which annualizes to roughly $596. No distinct first-year discount turned up either. Nothing about the service itself is defective; the billing cadence just makes it the most expensive way to fill the role, and quarterly charges are easy to stop noticing.

Ninth: Inc Authority

Inc Authority hands you the first year at $0 and then declines to say what the renewal costs. We looked at the FAQ, the package pages, and the homepage; the number is not published anywhere we could find, which usually means it gets quoted at checkout or over the phone. A price you cannot see before committing is the exact pattern this ranking exists to warn against, so last place it is.

Delaware Lets Your LLC Be Its Own Agent, and Why Most Owners Decline

Delaware's registered agent statute, 6 Del. C. § 18-104, is unusually permissive: its list of eligible agents starts with the LLC itself, followed by a Delaware resident individual, a qualifying domestic entity, or a foreign entity authorized to do business in the state. Very few states let a company hold its own appointment, so a Delaware LLC genuinely can skip all nine vendors above and fill the role for free.

The catch is the fine print you take on. The company must keep a registered office at a Delaware street address, the agent's business office must be identical with that registered office, and § 18-104(e) bars any agent from operating solely through a virtual office or a mail-forwarding service. Somebody has to be genuinely present there during business hours, and the address goes into the public record. If you already run a staffed office in Wilmington, self-appointment is a legitimate way to save $99 a year. If you run your Delaware company from somewhere else, as most owners do, you cannot meet the presence rule at all, and hiring an agent is the cost of not renting a Delaware office.

Switching Agents Costs $50, If You File the Right Certificate

Delaware prices an agent change at $50, but only on the correct paperwork. The Division of Corporations accepts a Certificate of Amendment Changing Only the Registered Office/Agent, and § 18-1105(a)(11) sets the fee for that specifically captioned filing at $50. Fold the same change into a general certificate of amendment instead and the fee becomes $180, so the caption is worth reading twice. When you move to us, we supply every detail the certificate asks for, and your documents start routing to our office once the Division records the change.

No Annual Report, Just a June 1 Tax With Expensive Late Math

Ready when you are. Ordering takes about five minutes.

Delaware LLCs file no annual report at all. What they owe instead is a flat annual tax, $300 historically and $400 beginning with tax year 2026 under HB 400, paid to the Division of Corporations' Franchise Tax Section on or before June 1. Because there is no report to fill out, there is also no form arriving in the mail to jog your memory. The penalty structure does not forgive: miss June 1 and the state adds $200 plus interest of 1.5 percent per month running on both the tax and the penalty, and continued nonpayment ends in lost good standing and eventual cancellation. Corporations run on a separate calendar, with a franchise tax report due March 1. All of which is why the reminder half of an agent service matters more in Delaware than almost anywhere: a $99 subscription that reliably flags June 1 is cheap insurance against late math that compounds monthly.

Where This Lands

All nine services satisfy § 18-104, so the choice comes down to price and conduct. If you want a famous brand, LegalZoom is available at $249. If you want the lowest printed price, BetterLegal advertises $90. If you want same-day scans, a flat $99 renewal that never creeps, and a heads-up before every June 1, we built this service for exactly that.
