Registered agent service from LegalZoom runs $249 per year. The charge auto-renews, and we found no first-year discount anywhere in their published materials, which at least means the price you see is the price that recurs. That is more transparency than several competitors manage.

It is also the highest flat annual rate we verified across nine Delaware providers. What $249 buys, in statutory terms, is a Delaware street address that accepts service of process on your behalf and a party who forwards what arrives. The state does not grade the vendor. It checks that somebody eligible is listed and reachable.

Seven hundred and fifty dollars over five years is the whole of the arithmetic, and it does not require anyone to have behaved badly.

Why This Role Weighs More in Delaware Than Elsewhere

Delaware issues more entity charters than it has businesses operating inside its borders, and that is by design. The state asks for no local operations, no local employees, no local office of your own.
