A founder counting an opening balance gets a mandatory recurring service handed over for nothing, and that is a real benefit rather than a rhetorical one.

Month Thirteen Is Where the Information Stops

What the renewal costs is not disclosed. We went looking for it: the homepage, the frequently asked questions, the premium package listings. The figure is not printed in any of them. The ordinary explanation is that the amount surfaces during checkout or in a phone call, once the complimentary year has already carried the sale.

Two things follow from that without anyone having to speculate about the amount.

The first is that renewal is not a detail of this purchase. Delaware requires an appointed agent for the entire life of the entity, so the recurring charge is the product. A price disclosed only for the year that costs nothing is a price disclosed for the least important year.

The second is about when you learn it. On the day you order, your commitment is at its highest and your information at its lowest. Twelve months later there is a filing history, a public record carrying the vendor's address, and a state certificate standing between you and anybody else. That gap is neither unusual nor unlawful. It closes the moment you ask for the renewal rate in writing before you buy, which we would encourage regardless of who you buy from.

We are not going to fill in that blank with a guess. Publishing a made-up rival figure would destroy the only thing this page is claiming.

Worth knowing before you pick anyone. Delaware's annual LLC tax is paid through the Division of Corporations' online system, and the state permits the entity's registered agent to remit it on the company's behalf. Delaware agents commonly do exactly that, which turns a date you have to remember into a service somebody else operates.

There is a limit to what that payment accomplishes, and it surprises people. Paying the tax does not update any information the state holds about your company. The registered agent on record, the registered office address, none of it changes because money arrived. Those are separate certificates with separate fees. So a company that has quietly switched agents in practice but never filed for it stays wrong in the public record no matter how faithfully it pays.
